Life Drawing Class - 45 Min Poses

Description

Okay I've reached the breaking point on long poses.
45 minutes is god-awfully too long.

I sketched in pencil.
I inked line art.
I waited for it to dry.
I inked weight and blacks.
Waited for it to dry.
I put in ink washes.
I STILL FINISHED EACH AT THE HALF HOUR MARK.

Anyone who takes that long is so sloooooow.

Done in india ink with a dip pen and a brush.
Base sketch in HB pencil.

These images look really nice! I've been keeping track of your progress throughout these art classes and you seem to finish early all the time. That happened to me a lot as well, but my professor would smash me for not utilizing all the time given. Being fast isn't always necessarily better!

Working quickly gives you these really nice gestures, and you seem to fulfill the requirements under the allotted time, which makes me believe you're very comfortable with what you've been doing. Try using that extended time to push your work a step further than what you'd consider finished/complete. It's hard to say not to be afraid to make mistakes, but messing up also makes you more aware of what you can do and where to expand as an artist. Fulfilling requirements for class is one thing, but also trying to set your own personal goals as to where you want your art to progress is a very important step into improving your craft.

I hope to see more of your work in the future!
